I guessed Kok Chun's sermon this morning on the above was a timely reminder. In the end, it isn't about being chosen by the world, but rather, to be chosen by the most important person there can be: Yahweh.
I'm sorry I had forgotten that. And ended up losing my focus. He's right. Our identity shouldn't be based on our career, family background, marital status, or anything else that is of the world. It is our identity in Christ that truly matters.
