According to Dictionary.com, to dance is to "to move one's feet or body, or both, rhythmically in a pattern of steps, esp. to the accompaniment of music."

But dance is more than that isn't it? To me, it is the expression of the soul through movements, the physical demonstration of the human spirit.

I think the human body is made to dance. No matter how well we dance. Technique is important, but secondary in comparison to the passion.

And I believe what we dance for is important too. That's why it saddens me that certain genres of dance had reduced women, or men for that matter, to nothing more than sex objects. And sadder still that such dances are making their way to the church.

Keeping up with the times is one thing. But it shouldn't be an excuse.
